It's been announced that Christian Bale will be playing Bruce Wayne in the next big screen Batman movie. Yes, that's right, Batman is returning to the big screen after a disappointing Batman and Robin.

Batman 5 will be directed by Christopher Nolan, best known for Memento, and will star Christian Bale, best known for his outstanding performance in American Psycho, and it's been rumored that Michelle Pfeiffer will return as a new character.

I'll be the first to say that the Batman franchise has taken a dive for the worst the after the last 2 installments... but I think the next movie will not be disappointing. I for one can not wait to hear more about the storyline and the rest of the cast. Production of the new movie should start in early 2004.

Family GuyAccording to Seth McFarlene, creator of the hilarious (and cancelled) cartoon, The Family Guy, Fox has given a green light to produce an all new Family Guy movie!

Because this will be a feature length movie and not aired on Network TV, Seth and the other writers don't plan on holding any jokes back. We can look forward to lots of hilarious celebrity gags, and we can even look forward to uncensored swearing.

Rumor has it that the movie will be based on Stewie, who will come to the realization that he is gay. Now this is gonna be funny...

You can read about the new seasons of Family Guy here.

Thanks to Ben for the heads up on this... I totally thought it was worth posting.

Family Guy may be returning to Network TV. With the recent success of DVD sales, 20th Century FOX is considering a plan to resume the production of the ill-fated cartoon in 2005.

I've been a fan of this show since it first aired back in 1999... and I was devestated and confustion when it was cancelled in 2002... so you can imagine how excited I am about this news.

For all of you Family Guy fans who have been as disappointed as me when the show was cancelled... I have some great news. Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is coming back with a new animated series tentatively titled American Dad.

The premise of the new cartoon focuses on a family consisting of a right-leaning CIA agent and his wife, their two kids (including a liberal daughter), a housebound alien named Roger and a French-speaking goldfish.

FOX has ordered for a pilot presentation, and if American Dad gets the go-ahead, it could launch as early as fall 2004. With all of the recent sucess of Family Guy, I'm sure the show will already have a very large fan base.

If you're a reality TV fan, or even if you're not, you would like FOX's new sitcom, My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance. I watched the series premiere of it last night, and I thought it was hilarious!

If you're not aware of the show concept, it's about these two people who have to convince their families that they are in love, and are getting married in 2 weeks. If they fool their parents, they each get half a million dollars. Now, the twist is that the guy, Steve, is an actor, who is going out of his way to be the most abnoxious fiance he can be. So the poor girl, Randi, is horrified that she has to pretend to be in love with this fat obnoxious guy... the whole time not knowing that the joke's on her.

If you missed the premiere, they are gonna air it again on Thursday night, Jan. 22. I suggest checking it out... I think you'll like it. =)

Well, this year's Oscar nominations have been released. I was suprised by a few things this year...
  1. Cold Mountain was NOT nomiated for Best Picture. This is great - it means that Lord of the Rings is a guarenteed win!

  2. Johnny Depp was nomiated for Best Actor. He was awesome in Pirates... but I didn't expect a nomination.

  3. The Matrix movies weren't nominated for any Special Effects awards.
That being said... I'm thinking this year's awards will all belong to Return of the King. It has a total of 11 nominations... if they win them all, they will have a tie for the most Oscars of any movie (Both Titanic and Ben-Hur have 11 each). Anyways... here are the nominations for 2004...
