This will be the first revision of the game in like 18 years. The news is making a lot of Axis & Allies fans excited, including myself and my co-workers. This set of articles about the new game summerize all the new rules and changes. My favourite updates are the fact that subs can shoot at aircrafts, fighters can be build on aircraft carriers... and they have all new realistic looking peices... (the German tank is huge compared to the Japan tank). And best of all... the game will be affordable... around the $44USD mark. This is an hilarious way of telling someone annoying to STFU (shut the f*ck up). Turn on your sound, and watch! After the success of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I think is this a wise decision. Peter Jackon is all set to go ahead with it, and plans to make it have the same look and feel of the Lord of the Rings. This is great news to fans and non-fans alike. All I can say is woot woot! One question I have for this movie... in the LOTR series... remember when Frodo had the ring on... how reality was all distorted? Well, how are they going to represent reality when Bilbo wears the ring? After all, he wears the ring quite a bit in the book. As clever as the teaser trailer was, it gave no idea as to what the movie was about. Now, this new trailer gives much more information... and I've gotta say that the movie looks better than I ever imagined! Go Watch Now! The trailer doesnt give much about the movie away... which is a good thing, I think. It shows just enough to get you pumped for the next trailer. Go Watch Now! I was blown away but the teaser trailer... but this one put me over the top. Looks like it will be one of the best disaster movies to date. Go Watch Now! Morris has a video on his blog that shows how Bertuzzi cheapshotted Moore, and thus causing Moore's broken neck. What confuses me is how everyone is complaining that the media is making such a big deal about the whole incident. It seems that a lot of people feel Bertuzzi doesn't deserve such a harsh punishment, and that the media is focusing on the suspension and blowing it out of proportion. Petition Spot currently has 189 members, 175 petitions posted, and a total of 15,000 signatures. I'm also happy to say that I'm about to rollout the next set of Petition Spot updates. These new updates will include new management tools for petition creators, and a tool that will verify petition signatures by email. I've had lots of feedback on the site, and the biggest concern is people signing petitions with fake email addresses, and these email addresses make the petition seem less professional. (petition creators don't like this!) The new updates should be online within the next few weeks. So rememeber, if you need to create an online petition, head on over to Petition Spot! (it's free!) I started looking for available domains, and to my surprise, familyguy.us was availabile! (So was familyguy.ws and familyguy.ca). So, I now have familyguy.us registered. If you go to the site, you'll see that there's not much there yet, but I'd like to put something on it soon. My only problem is that I'm not entirely sure what to put on it. So, to you Family Guy fans out there, what should I put on the site? What would make an awesome fansite? Should I put up a Family Guy weblog... should I put a message board, or how about just episode information, etc... Any ideas would be woot. I was never really a huge fan of these ads, but I wanted to try it out for a month, to see what kind of extra revenue I can bring it. (I also have the ads running at Petition Spot) You see, I'm going to have to upgrade my hosting plan (I went over my 10 gig limit last month), which will essentially double the costs of running all my sites, so I thought I'd see if Google Adsense could help me out. So, if you want to help a fellow weblogger pay some bills, try checking out some of the ads. =D After a couple of weeks, I'm going to write a post of my thoughts of Google Adsense... so stay tunned. =) Posted by Brad Pineau on March 23rd, 2004 at 6:25 pm AST [18619 views] I got home from work today... and checked my mail, as I do everyday. There was a big letter addressed to my fiance, Zoe. (The last name on the label was actually spelled Milnere, and Zoe's last name is Milner). So I gave the letter to Zoe, she opened it, and it was from Primus. So, the letter contained 11 pages worth of long distance phone calls, totalling up to over $200, all billed in Zoe's name. We were both like, WTF!?! We don't even have long distance with Primus! (ours is thru Eastlink) So Zoe called Primus, and keyed in our phone number into the automated system. It told her that our number is not on file. So then she called back and got a hold of an operator, and Zoe tried to explain the situtation. Of course, she was passed around from operator to operator. They kepr telling her "You signed up for it"... and Zoe's was like "I didn't make these calls!" So anyways, they finally tried to confirm Zoe's demographic information, and it turned out they had a number on file that wasn't even our number. Zoe was like "That's not my number" and they were like "Oh really? Ok. Well, disregard the bill then." And that was that... Zoe hung up and all of a sudden we didn't owe over $200 anymore. Long story short, Primus was going to screw us out of a lot of money. If the bill had of been like $20 or something, we totally would have paid without thinking. Makes me wonder how many other people this has happened to, and how much money they have scammed out of people! Could be because I was so used to the old look, could be because it's not as nice a layout... I'm not sure why. I was just so used to the old look... I wonder why they changed it. I don't notice any obvious features that make it better. My one concern is that the logo seems pretty constrained up in the top there. It doesn't leave much room to change for special logos (Ie, holiday logos). I really enjoyed those special logos. =) |
