This week, I'm going to post my list of the top 10 actors of all time. Again, keep in mind that this is just my own opinion, and by "All Time", I really mean "in the last 20 years". See, I haven't seen many movies pre-1980. Anyways, here we go... 10. Christian Bale 9. Russell Crowe 8. Jack Nicolson 7. Tom Cruise 6. Brad Pitt 5. Edward Norton 4. Robert de Niro 3. Al Pacino 2. Tom Hanks 1. Kevin Spacey So who's your favourite actor? This week, I bought a bunch of Habitrail cage addons from my friend, Rodney. Shadow now has a bitchin' new kick-ass cage. He's so excited with his new upgrades (wouldn't you be too?). Here are some pictures of the new cage. As you can see, he now has 3 sets of sleeping quarters, 2 running wheels, a sky restaurant, a maze, and 2 full cages. So far, we bought 4 fish. We named them Ben, JLo, Nemo, and Simon. I wanted to name one of them "Fish", but Zoe wouldn't have it. So we compromised, and out next fish will be "Fishie". I also wanna name one "Gill". Here are some pictures of the new tank. To complete installation, you must restart your computer. I just find this quite amusing. It makes you wonder about all the things that Windows is powering. Airport information screens, Lottery ticket machines,... seems like everything. I just posted my first post on the weblog, A Look at the Movies of 2004. If you're a movie fanatic like myself, you'll love the readings over at The Movie Blog. I recommend checking it out, and I'm not just saying that because I'm an author for it now. =) Posted by Brad Pineau on January 13th, 2004 at 1:39 am AST [4845 views] Survivor is coming back to CBS, with a whole new twist. I thought it would be nice to have a new, fresh layout, and I wanted to move away from the old grey... and I've always liked sites that have an all-white background.I was playing with the layout in Photoshop... and I had the text exactly how I wanted. I was using a Verdana font with Smooth anti-aliasing... oh how I wish web browsers could render text with anti-aliasing... it looks so nice and smooth and sharp. I'll have to settle with a plain Verdana font for now. Something that has been driving me nuts about the layout... for some reason, in Mozilla Firebird 0.7, whenever you go to any particular page, the page will randomly render twice the width as it should be, and the side menu will stretch out to like 600 pixels instead of the usual 300 pixels. Then, if you click refresh, the page will render as normal. Can any Firebird users shed some light on what's going on here? Basically, to sum the discussion up, Checkers is a place that has very poor customer service. On the other end of the spectrum, Pizza Delight is a place that has awesome customer service. My girlfriend and I ate there the other day, and we were both just blown away with how nice we were treated.
Having good customer service sure pays off in the end. I gave our waiter a five dollar tip, and I'm writing about how good Pizza Delight is on my weblog. Oh, and by the way, Checkers sucks. I'm talking about ABC's Primetime version, by the way... London's version was good too, but the American version with Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochery, Wayne Brady, Brad Sherwood, and Greg Proops was the best of the best of primetime television! So what the hell happened to it? I don't remember ever hearing it was cancelled. Heck, it was even nominated for an Emmy... so why would they cancel the damn thing? Does anyone know anything about this? If you check out the ABC site, you'll see that they stopped updating it last September. It's a shame that this show isn't on anymore... I just loved it. Even if they showed reruns, I'd be happy. This site has a wide variety of listings, and you can view cottages by location on PEI, by the weekly rate, by how many stars the cottage has... and all the listings have nice pictures of the cottage and a quick summary of the accommodation. I watched the series premiere of it last night, and I thought it was hilarious! If you're not aware of the show concept, it's about these two people who have to convince their families that they are in love, and are getting married in 2 weeks. If they fool their parents, they each get half a million dollars. Now, the twist is that the guy, Steve, is an actor, who is going out of his way to be the most abnoxious fiance he can be. So the poor girl, Randi, is horrified that she has to pretend to be in love with this fat obnoxious guy... the whole time not knowing that the joke's on her. If you missed the premiere, they are gonna air it again on Thursday night, Jan. 22. I suggest checking it out... I think you'll like it. =) Posted by Brad Pineau on January 28th, 2004 at 6:56 pm AST [27541 views] I popped into the Charlottetown Futureshop last night to pick up a new video card for my PC at work. I was looking at their selection, and one of the sales guys came up and asked if I needed help. I asked him if they had any of the cheap GeForce video cards left (there was none left on the shelf), and he asked me what kind of computer the video card would be for. Thinking of my home PC, I mistakenly said I had a Pentium Celeron computer. He quickly informed me that the video card I was looking for wouldn't work on my PC anyways, since Celeron computers don't have AGP slots.Well, I didn't say anything to him, I just said "ok" and left the counter... but the whole time, I found what he said quite confusing. My home Celeron PC indeed has an AGP slot, with an 8 meg AGP video card in it... making what he told me complete bs. It makes me wonder... how many times do these "experts" at Futureshop (or other stores) give incorrect information to customers. If I didn't know the difference... I probably would have ended up buying a PCI video card... and end up missing all the goodness of AGP. The email looks like one of those "Mail Delivery Error" emails... and includes an attachment. And the attachment is titled something like "something.txt .exe" except there's a bunch more spaces, and it looks like the file is titled "something.txt" to fool people into opening it without fear. I've been getting hit hard with these emails... and they all just started coming in the past few days. Man it's annoying.
