I had a lot of "me" time today... so I thought I'd pop Grand Theft Auto 3 into the Playstation to get a little fun gaming action. As I was playing it, I thought to myself, "This game would make an awesome movie."

Then it occurred to me that motion picture studios make a lot of really crappy movies (ahem, The Perfect Score, ahem). Why make movies that you know will suck when there are so many other good ideas out there?

So, I have compiled a quick list of 10 awesome movie ideas that I would love to see. There are many other ideas I have thought of, but we'll start with the first 10 I thought of while writing this article.
  • Hobbit (Prequel to LOTR)

  • Wayne's World 3

  • Ghostbusters 3

  • Die Hard 4 (hopefully will be made in 2005)

  • Thor (Marvel Comics)

  • Lost in Space 2

  • American History X 2

  • Grand Theft Auto

  • Planet of the Apes 2 (Sequel to the 2001 version)

  • Legend of Zelda

It's been a while since I made a post.... so I figured I'd get back into it with a bang...

This Valentines Day is a special one... I asked my "Junior-High Sweetheart", Zoe, to marry me... and of course she said YES. =) Here's a picture of the ring on the right. Sorry that my camera doesn't take nice close-ups... I'm going to try and find a better picture of it.

There are several reasons why I choose to propose on Feb. 14.
  • First, and most obvious... it's Valentine's day!
  • Second, there's a deeper meaning to the date. Thirty years ago to the day, my father asked my mother to marry him. And my brother says when it comes time for him to ask the big question, he's going to do it on Valentines day.
  • Third, I wanted to do it very soon... because as it stands right now, both Zoe's sister and mother are engaged, so it would be pretty neat for Zoe to be engaged too. Now, if her other older sister got engaged (which would be very possible) it would be pretty cool.
  • Fourth, I wanted to buy the ring now because I had the money for it. And having the ring in my possesion... I couldn't NOT propose...
We plan on being engaged for a while... the wedding date probably wont be for about 2 years or so. But in the mean time, we started planning for the big day already. Well, moreso the honeymoon... we're looking at some nice vacation spots.

Today, I spent the evening with some co-workers playing the WWII-based board game, Axis & Allies. It was my first time playing the game, and I've got to say that my first impressions are all positive. It's an excellent strategy board game, but it does take quite a bit of time to play.

A different war-based board game that I am used to playing is Risk. Risk is a very similar board game, based on world domination. After having played both games, I'm left with the question - which is better, Risk or Axis & Allies.

I think it all really depends on what level of strategy you want in a game. I find that Risk strategies are more straight forward, and can change throughout the game... whereas in Axis & Allies, you need to be careful with your strategy, as each turn is so much more important. The biggest difference between the two games would be the units... Risk has land armies, whereas Axis & Allies have land, air, and water units.

After playing both games, I think I have to say that Risk is the better board game. However, I could be biased because I've played Risk much more than I have played Axis & Allies. What game do you think is best?
