Bill Gates and the rest of his lackies piss me off more and more everyday. Why would he want to restrict access to his MSN servers?Does he think he is going to gain something from doing this? The only thing he is doing (and he does it very well) is make people NOT want to support his crappy windows OS's, and further drive them to using linux or buying a Mac.

[website]Think this is more of a ..
ok we made this made it free .. sneakily embedded it in the OS .. ok
some people are stealing access to it .. so ok lets lock it down and lets start charging for access for third parties.
But i think in the end what they really want to happen is
third party hacks access and they get to sue them.. personal perspective .. but dont think i am too far off
Microsoft provides Messenger for free, but it obviously costs them a lot of money to keep the servers up and running. I don't think they have any obligation to allow third-party access to the service.
That said, it would be nice if they did allow it, so that people can amalgamate their use of different messaging services. This allows MSN Messenger, however, to be used on other operating systems like Linux.
Microsoft is a business, and their core revenue source is the Windows family of operating systems. I think now, when Linux is becoming a real threat to Windows, is the time when Microsoft is going to limit interoperability as best it can, to make it harder for users to switch to Linux. A lot of people might not like this very much, but it makes perfect business sense.

[email]It is not obligatory for Microsoft to continue with its MSN Service. Having started it as a free Service, and owing to increasing misuse of the Service they stand right in deciding to discontinue the Service. It sometimes looks quite sour that we people having used their FREE service for such a long time suddenly feel that it's Obligatory on the part of Microsoft to Continue it's MSN Service. Let's atleast be thankful to them for having provided this Free Service for such a long time. As for Business "YES" Microsoft is like any other Company that intends to make revenues from their Investments... Linux Bigwigs too now sell their OS for a Price...though not big enough..Infact nobody would want to give a Software let alone an OS for Free after having invested Millions of Dollars for its Development. We should be reasonable..and personally I believe that they have every right to integrate a Service / Application / package into their OS and it's for users to decide if they want to use a service. Overall we should be atleast thankful to them for without their reach and the Windows OS it never would have been possible for this load of Users to surf the Internet so easily...For Newbies LINUX remains a Nightmare...on the otherhand the WINDOWS OS is far User Friendly and easy to use and deploy. Indeed as the ease of use increases so does the BUG rate too..
Let's hope that soon Microsoft implements a new way of Messenger Experience with Security / Policing as some would like to call it....and don't forget then People would start yelling / grumbling that the service is slow..has a lot of security issues..and so on.... THIS will never STOP.
Looks like they have started banning access... I couldn't log into my MSN account with Miranda today.
Stephen from
NewRecruit pointed this out to me... if you download the
MSN v.8 Protocol Plugin, you can continue to login to the MSN network with
Miranada.
Mircosoft will pay. With the increase intrest of Linux microsoft's OS will burn in hell!
